Aldora Chapter will install a new corps of officers Tuesday, October 23 at 7:30 PM. The installing officers are:

Practice for the installation of officers is Sunday, October 21 at 3:00 PM at the Xenia Masonic Center.

October 9 Stated Meeting

The Pianos in the Dining Room and Chapter Room have been tuned. The Resolution of Respect was read for Cheryl Bentley. The Memorial Service for 10 Sisters and Brothers who went to be with our LORD were honored. Thank you to Paul and Virginia Pinkerton for a delicious meal before the meeting.

 

Ronnie and I would like to thank the Officers for our gifts that were given to us at our last meeting.  We are proud to have served our Chapter and appreciate each and every one of the Officer, Pages, Aids, Side Liners and Members who have supported us this year.

September 11 Stated Meeting

 

We will miss our dear Sister, Carol.

We lift up our prayers that the good Lord will hold Carol in his bosom and lift his countenance over our Brother Eddie and their entire family.

Moore, Carol Jean, 70, of Yellow Springs, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Dorothy (Collins) Hanna. Survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Cecil Eddie Moore; sons Jeff (Emily) Moore, Scott (Heather) Moore; daughter Amy (Jim) Parker; brothers Jim (Sue) Hanna, John (Becky) Hanna; grandchildren Cole, Allyson and Kennedy Moore, Chay, Isaac, Ethan and Ava Parker, Riley and Charlotte Moore. She retired from the US Bank
 in Yellow Springs after 45 years, was a member of the Aldora Chapter # 262 Order of Eastern Star, and a longtime member of the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church. Family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Funeral Home, 322 Xenia Ave, Yellow Springs, OH. Funeral Services will be 10 AM Wednesday at the Cedarville United Presbyterian Church, 30 W. Chillecothe St, Cedarville, OH. Pastor Anne Horton officiating. Interment Massie’s Creek Cemetery, Cedarville, OH. Contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to Hospice of Dayton.

Associate Matron's Father Passes

Our Associate Matron, Dianne Cassidy, lost her father as he passed away Saturday morning, July 28. Our prayers are with Dianne and her whole family. Brother Duke Raymond Ramage (Grand Lodge of Mississippi) was 79 and passed away in Nebo, KY.

Cheryl Bentley Passes

We were saddened by the death of PM Cheryl Bentley on Wednesday, July 18, 2018.  She was under Hospice Care. Aldora Chapter held a Star Services for her on Sunday Evening July 22 and she was buried on Monday, July 23.

May 22 - Annual Inspection

Aldora Chapter has been preparing for their inspection this month. It will start promptly at 7:30 PM. There is no meal before. There will be plenty of refreshments following the work. Officers are asked to arrive by 6:15 PM so you can meet with the Deputy.

Garage Sale - It's coming.

Start saving items for the Garage Sale June 1st and 2nd. We will be setting up on Thursday, May 31. Let Diane know if you can help work on these days.

May 8 Chapter Meeting

Our next meeting will be on May 8. We will begin with a light meal. We will have a pro tem initiation that evening. Officers, please call the WM if you are unable to be there so she has all chairs filled. Pam Klingler was received in ritualistic form. 

April 24 Pro tem Initiation

We had a nice meal before retiring to the Chapter room and holding our pro tem initiation. Virginia and Paul Pinkerton were received in ritualistic form.

April 24 Special Meeting

There will be a pro tem initiation on April 24. Light refreshments will following. Plan to do another pro tem initiation on the night of our May 8 Stated Meeting as we prepare for our May 22 Inspection. Let the Worthy Matron know if you might miss so she can plan accordingly.

April 10 Stated Meeting

We will have a light meal before our meeting and we will be having pro tem initiation during our meeting. Let the Worthy Matron know if you might have to miss the meeting.

The inspection is coming -- May 22. Mark your calendars.

March 13 Stated Meeting

We had a fine meal before our meeting. There was a lot of Green as St. Patrick's Day approaches.

We had a report on the huge donations of dog food and treats made to 4 Paws for Ability. Congratulations, Chapter. Great job. They really appreciate your help.

Start saving items for the Garage Sale June 1st and 2nd.

Inspection will be May 22.

Four Paws for Ability Donation

Chapter members have been donating dog food and treats for the dogs being trained at 4 Paws. Recently went over and provided more tan 70 pounds of dog food, 18.5 pounds of treats, and a bag of tennis balls. Great job of a worth while organization. 

February 13 Stated Meeting

There will be a meal provided before our meeting. Please come and join us.

The altar was draped in memory of Sister Barbara Price, Past Grand Matron. The Charter was draped in memory of Sister Merrie Sue Covard and Brother Otis Shepherd.

Remember, if Xenia Community Schools are closed, then the meeting will be held on the 4th Tuesday.

January 9 Meeting

Following a light meal, the Chapter will gather for our January meeting. We continue to collect "C" notes and pet food for 4 Paws for Ability. The Chapter will be re -obligated and the Associate Conductress will give her lecture. Our District Charities Director, Alan Booker, will be present to discuss this year's charity projects. 

December 12 Meeting

Relaxed Christmas attire was the order for the evening as the Chapter recognized the reason for the season. Products for dogs were collected in lieu of gifts to donate to 4 Paws for Ability. Past Matrons supplied a light meal before the meeting. Sister Sue Red served as our organist for the evening.

November 14 Meeting

For the first meeting with the new officers, Sister Barb and Brother Larry provided a meal before the meeting. Sister Linda and Brother Ron presided and signed the Bible following the meeting. Our Deputy, Sister Robyn Westfern, joined us. Sister Pam was installed and six members were reinstated. Continue to collect the "C" notes. The money will be donated to the Regenerative Medicine project.

Installation of 2017 - 2018 Officers

Installation will be on Tuesday, October 24 at 7:30 PM. There will be refreshments following the installation. Officers should arrive by 6:30 PM.

Next Meeting - October 10

There will be a light meal before our stated meeting at 6:30 PM. We will be presenting Anniversary Pins during the meeting. We look forward to seeing everyone on the last meeting before we install a new corps of officers.

Educational Opportunity

Aldora Chapter will be hosting the first Educational Opportunity (aka Small School) of the year on Sunday, October 1.

Grand Chapter Session

The Grand Chapter Session will be held at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky for the first time, September 22 - 24.

September 12 Meeting Notes

Before our meeting, we had a light meal provided by Virginia and Paul Pinkerton. A big thank you for a nice meal.

We were honored to have Sister Peg Reiterman (Past Grand Matron) and Brother Scott Riddle (Grand Chaplin) join us to speak about the General Grand Chapter Committee on Regenerative Medicine.

Sister Linda announced that practice for the Installation would be on Sunday afternoon, October 22.

Our Masonic Ambassadors visited the chapter and did a great job as they talked about this fine Grand Chapter program.

2017 Annual Inspection

Aldora Chapter had a fine inspection and were honored to have Past Grand Matrons Peg Reiterman and Jean Watters and Past Grand Patron Steve Moore among our honored guests. A good time was had and everyone retired to the dining room following the inspection for refreshments and fellowship.

April 11 Practice of Initiatory Work

We will practice our initiatory work beginning at 7:00 PM for all that can make it.

April Meetings

Inspection is on April 29 and we look forward to having many of you join us.

The April stated meeting will be on the 25th as our scheduled date is during Holy Week. There will be a light dinner before the evening. We will perform a pro tem initiation on the evening.

April 11 we will have a practice of the initiatory work for anyone that can make it. Hope to see you there.

March 2017 Meeting

Attendance was light due to several personal issues, but for everyone at the meeting, it was a good evening. We had a nice dinner before the meeting. We had planned to do a pre tem initiation for the evening, but with a couple positions being pro tem'd, it was decided to postpone until April 11.

February 2017 Meeting

It was a nice evening as we discussed plans for the upcoming inspection and preparations for it. There was a light dinner before the meeting.

January 2017 Meeting

We had refreshments before the meeting and while the weather was a bit iffy, the fellowship inside was warm and friendly. If you didn't make it, we missed you.

December Meeting

With snow and cold, we had a good turn out with a fine meal before the meeting.

A big thank you to the WM's son, who shoveled the parking lot. It's nice to have a strong young man around.

4 Paws for Ability Donation

Members present check to 4 Paws for Ability from garage sale proceeds. Brenda, Diane, Pam, Linda, Sharon, Joan, and Marilyn in picture above. Marilyn and Pam chaired the effort. The whole chapter pitched in to make it a successful fund raiser. Thanks to Past Grand Patron Ron Seigla for coming out and promoting it. Great job for a very worthy cause. 

4 Paws Donation

The garage sale was a big hit and more than $1,000 will be donated to Four Paws for Ability in Xenia. Plans are to meet at 4 Paws to present the check on Tuesday, July 12 at 7:30 PM. Officers, wear your chapter attire.

To honor the many service men and women who are still suffering from the conflicts of war, 4 Paws for Ability will be making service/assistance dogs available to help them lead a more independent life. 


A special fundraising effort has been launched to be able to place dogs, with no effort on their part, with select disabled veterans of the most recent wars and conflicts.

September Meeting

A light dinner will be served before our meeting on September 8. We will present Service Award Pins. We will have a light dinner before the meeting.

Remember Grand Chapter in Dayton on September 25 -27. If you have not registered, you can register at the event with your dues card. The business meeting will be on Saturday afternoon. The installation of new grand officers will be on Sunday afternoon.

Great Reception

In July we had a wonderful reception for two special ladies in our chapter. Sister Roberta Erwin is serving as the Grand Organist. Sister Misha Ackenhausen is nearing the completion of her second year as the Deputy Grand Matron. A large attendance celebrated their service and enjoyed the food following the reception. The Worthy Grand Matron, Sister Susan Simpson, and the Worthy Grand Patron, Brother Steve Moore, expressed their appreciation for the hard work Sisters Roberta and Misha have given the Grand Chapter. Thanks to all that made the reception possible.

Grand Visitation & Reception

Friday, July 10 will be the joint Grand Reception for The Grand Organist, Sister Roberta Erwin and the Deputy Grand Matron of District 18, Sister Misha Ackenhausen. The Grand Visitation will welcome the Worthy Grand Matron, Sister Susan Simpson and the Worthy Grand Patron, Brother Steve Moore. 


The evening will begin at 7:30 PM at the Xenia Masonic Center. Refreshments will follow.

June 9 Annual Meeting

Sisters and Brothers:
Tuesday's meeting will be opened in short form. The dress will be casual, no capris, shorts, jeans, strapless dresses or tops. Men do not need to wear jacket and tie. 

This is our annual meeting. Elections will be held for the 2015-16 officers and reports given, so we have a very full agenda.Audit, Trustees, and Budget reports will be presented.

Annual Inspection - May 15

May 15 is the Annual Inspection with Debby Pitts, DGM District 9 the inspecting officer. Salads will be served following the work.

Ways and Means has scheduled the Annual Garage Sale at the Xenia Masonic Center.

Memorial Day

Whether you celebrate Memorial Day on May 25 (the government's designated holiday) or May 30 (the traditional day), give thanks for those that made the ultimate sacrifice. Originating from Decoration Day and Remembrance Day out of the conflict 150 years ago and the massive loss of life, it is a solemn day to lift prayers for those that have made our freedom possible.

To Junior Past Worthy Matron Brenda and Junior Past Worthy Patron Lee, Aldora Chapter gives their thanks and appreciation for our 2014 year. 

At Grand Chapter we were honored to have our very own Roberta Erwin come out on the floor as the Grand Organist and Misha Ackenhausen returns as the Deputy Grand Matron for District 18 for 2015. Congratulations! 

At our October meeting, we had Memorials for those that died this past year. We had several resolutions of respect read for those that passed recently. A big thank you to Mandy and Tammy for our pizza dinner with a Halloween theme. 

Installation was held Saturday, October 25th. Our Installing Officer was Sue Flora, Installing Marshal was Marion Johnson, Installing Chaplain was Jean Watters, and our Installing Organist was Betty Dodds.
